I received my first Monthly Fruit Club as a housewarming gift in 2004. Living in a small, remote mountain town, it was a huge treat getting fresh fruit delivered to the door each month. I enjoyed it so much, I renewed my membership for another year.
When my son was born shortly after that, an Organic Fruit of the Month Club supplied the base for homemade, organic baby food. He enjoyed an assortment of fruit and vegetable purees. He has remained a super-healthy eater and I attribute part of that to luck — and part of it to starting good eating habits early. The Fruit of the Month Club helped foster those good habits right from the start.
So, yes, I am a big fan of Monthly Fruit Clubs. They are more expensive than if you buy the fruit at your local grocery store. But that’s not really the point. They make such beautiful, thoughtful gifts. And who doesn’t like to receive a package every month? It certainly is a gift that keeps on giving.
