So far I’ve been fairly pleased. The first shipment was actually supposed to be kumquats AND pomegranates. But the kumqwats were delayed. So rather than wait any longer, The Fruit Company offered to just send all pomegranates instead.
The second shipment was oranges: Blood Oranges and Cara Cara Navel Oranges. Both were deliciously sweet. The blood oranges had a lovely red color on the inside. A nice change from ordinary “orange” oranges.
The Red Bananas and Baby Fingerlings weren’t that great. The fingerlings were green upon arrival (not unusual for bananas) so I left them out to get yellow. I’ve never had red bananas before, so wasn’t sure how to know when they were ready to eat. I waited a couple days to try both. When I tried to peel them, the skin stuck to the flesh. And they tasted bitter. So I figured they weren’t ready. I waited and waited…. but eventually they just turned brown so I threw them away.
The next month’s shipment of Kiwi & Star Fruit was much, much better. Both were sweet and delicious. This is the first time I recall having star fruit, and it was a pleasant surprise. Looks and tastes good!
